About MeI am known as "The Flight Wrights" on YouTube. I was surfing the internet one day when I came across a free flight simulator known as GeoFS. Knowing nothing about aviation when I started was a big obstacle, but the helpful and kind people in this amazing community made me confident enough to start my own YouTube Channel. | +/- | Increases/Decreases thrust | Holding the - for some time will activate reverse thrust |
| E | Turns on/off engines | If you bounce too hard or make an extremely hard landing, the engine may shut off and will not respawn unless you hit 'R' or reload the page. |
| R | Restart | Spawns you back on your starting location. Due to its proximity to T, it is frequently pressed at the worst times. |
| [ ] | Flaps/Slats/Droops | [ = extend ] = retract |
| B | Spoilers/air brakes | Slows your aircraft down |
| G | Gear | Retracts/extends gear |
| X | Animate | If your plane has an animation (ex. opening cargo nose door), X will perform it. Not all airplanes have animation. |
| C | Camera | Toggles through camera views |
| Down Arrow | Elevator Up | Lifts nose up |
| Up arrow | Elevator down | Descends |
| Left Arrow | Aileron Left | Turns left WHEN IN AIR and when Mix Roll/Yaw enabled. If you are taking off with, crosswind, push the arrow in which the wind is coming from (eg Winds coming from left, press left arrow) to prevent banking during takeoff |
| Right Arrow | Aileron Right | Turns right WHEN IN AIR and when Mix Roll/Yaw enabled. If you are taking off with, crosswind, push the arrow in which the wind is coming from (eg Winds coming from left, press left arrow) to prevent banking during takeoff |
| , | Rudder Left | Moves your aircraft left, no matter if in the air or on ground (works only if mix roll/yaw is disabled) |
| . | Rudder Right | Moves your aircraft right, no matter if in the air or on ground (works only if mix roll/yaw is disabled) |
| 0,1,2,3..7,8,9 | Thrust settings | 0 = 10% thrust, 1 = 20% thrust, 2 = 30% thrust, etc Note that 10% thrust is IDLE and E turns engines off completely |
| P | Pauses game | If you see a fire in your house, please do consider pausing. |
| A | Autopilot | Be sure to change the autopilot settings in Nav |
| T | Talk/Chat | If you type something and hit enter, you will be chatting. BE CAREFUL: two !'s, ?'s and other weird characters will clog up your chat and you will have to reload. forward slash doesn't work so use the backwards slash \ |
| Shift/Space | Brakes | Hit this when you are landing/need to slow down. It is also recommended you dab the brakes after you rotate. |
| Semi Colon (;) | PARKING Brake | Hit this ONLY if you will be holding/stopping for a long time for lineup, pre-flight checks, etc |
| S | Sound | The sound is VERY loud on GeoFS. You may consider setting your sound to 0 and gradually increasing it. |
